Last Sunday (4th December 2016) my friend and I went to Toledo (a city South-West of Madrid) to do some Christmas shopping and to see the Christmas lights.
This is a photo above is of the opening to The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo which is situated in the main plaza. Here, they had a market selling a variety of gifts including leather goods, jewellery, ornaments and food. You can’t forget the food! There was also a carousel for the children, although I really wanted to go on it – still a child at heart.
The market was very festive with baubles, bells and strings of lights. Down the streets there were bigger lights hanging overhead which I’m sure would have looked spectacular when lit up (we missed them turning on as we had to get our coach back!).
Christmas is one of my favourite times of year and I love how everyone puts in the effort to decorate with lights etc – it creates such a cosy and festive atmosphere!
16 sleeps until Christmas Day!
