Friday 17th – Sunday 19th February 2017

My friend, Kayleigh and I spent the weekend in Bilbao, Spain. This is was my first time in the North of Spain and the Basque Country! I loved it so much and would even go as far to say that is now one of my favourite cities.

It is very modern (you can definitely tell that it is an arty city) but the traditional architecture and old buildings are still present. The Nervión river runs through the city and is shown below in some of my photos.

We managed to prebook tickets for the Guggenheim Museum (a modern art museum/exhibition) and experienced some of the fascinating and interesting art pieces on show.

The Basilica of Begoña was on the outskirts so we walked through the Old Town and trekked up the hill (although there were outside escalators for the hills!) to the Basilica. The views were amazing and the building was so beautiful.
