Saturday 4th March 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

I visited Cuenca, a city East of Madrid and the Enchanted City which is close to Cuenca.<\/p>\n

Cuenca is known for it’s Hanging Houses which are built into the side of a cliff! It was such an exquisite city and one like I’ve never visited before. It felt like a skiing city as it was so high up in the mountains and with the restaurants having wooden tables, chairs and benches! Once you were up in the mountains, you could see for miles out across Spain with other mountains visible in the distance. In their Plaza Mayor were many little shops, restaurants, a fountain and brightly coloured houses like in the photo top left.<\/p>\n

Also, in the Plaza Mayor is a look alike of the Notre Dame which is called Catedral de Santa Mar\u00eda y San Juli\u00e1n:<\/p>\n

After spending the majority of the day in Cuenca, we visited The Enchanted City. It is a National Site which has been around for 9 millions years! There are many rocks which has have naturally been shaped into different forms that resemble different things. For example, there was as ship, two elephants fighting, a tornado. The trail ended with two faces close to kissing which had a story behind it, similar to Romeo and Juliet. The city was really fascinating with lots of little pathways but also massive open expanses. There was also snow! You did hear me right… Snow in Spain!!<\/p>\n
